Hello. Thanks for writing to us at healthcaremagic

Acne is a recurrent condition and can continue for years Or decades.
Acne has no direct correlation with intake of Oily food.
Azithromycin is an oral antibiotic and is commonly prescribed for inflammatory acne. The duration of treatment depends on the severity of acne and response to treatment. It may be continued for 8-12 weeks.
Topical treatment is an important part in the overall treatment of acne and consist of topical antibacterials like clindamycin, benzoyl peroxide, nadifloxacin etc.
Besides topical retinoids like Adapalene or Tretinoin are also usually part of the treatment of acne. Retinoids are antinflammatory and comedolytic.
On account of the comedolytic activity of topical retinoids they are also useful for maintaining the improvement and useful as a maintenance treatment.
Therefore, Once significant improvement has been achieved, topical retinoids may still be continued as part of teh maintenance regime and prevent a relapse.
