Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hello thanks for asking from HEALTH CARE MAGIC

He is having symptoms like feeling low, lack of desire to do anything, less sleep, lack of alertness, lack of confidence etc. Such symptoms can occur in depression but persistence of these symptoms for at least a month is needed to make diagnosis of depressive symptoms. These symptoms can be occurring due to some work stress or some problems at work place. I would advise you to visit a psychiatrist for proper treatment.

Medicines like SSRIs are commonly used in depression. These medicines includes fluoxetine, sertraline etc medicines. These are not addictive medicines and are free of serious side effects. There should be no stigma attached with the use of medicines. So get him evaluated with a good psychiatrist and if needed don't hesitate to give him medicines.

Thanks, hope this helps you.
