Hello. Thank you for writing to us at healthcaremagic

Acne and Post Inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) are concomitant. While acne lesions may resolve within a few days but the resulting PIH may persist for a long time.
Treatment of acne and PIH is based on a holistic approach where in the aim is to control acne activity so as to prevent future PIH while simultaneously treating existing acne and PIH.
If I was the treating doctor I would have started you on Oral antibiotics for your inflammatory acne. e.g either Doxycyline Or Azithromycin. These can be continued for 4-12 weeks depending on the severity of acne and response to treatment.
Topical treatment for acne includes either benzoyl peroxide or clindamycin for active acne, only as a spot treatment, during day time.
At night I usually ask my patients to use a topical Retinoid e.g Adapalene gel, over the whole affected area.
Topical retinoids are antiinflammatory as well as comedolytic; they prevent new acne formation in addition to treating existing ones.
Retinoids are also helpful in lightening PIH.
Once acne activity is controlled you may specifically use a skin lightening agent e.g Kojic acid cream, once or twice daily to lighten PIH.
Rather than going to a parlor, I would suggest that you visit a dermatologist in your region for the needful.
Your dermatologist will assess the severity of you acne and advice accordingly. You may also opt for a few sessions of chemical peeling from your treating dermatologist. Chemical peeling is good for both acne as well as PIH.
