Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern.

Thanks for query . The symptoms you mention in query are clearly indicating a condition called oral thrush , which is fungal infection.

There can be many reasons for occurrence of oral thrush like taking too much antibiotics , corticosteroids and birth controlling pills . This can also be caused by conditions like HIV which weakens the immunity of body and make it prone to infection.

I would suggest you to consult oral pathologist for proper diagnosis . Doctor may order blood test or throat swab test . He/she may prescribe anti fungal drugs like amphotericin B for at least 10 days.

For now what you can do is maintain proper oral hygiene , do warm saline rinses and use orabase gel for burning and itchiness .

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes,
Dr. Harry Maheshwari
