Suggest Remedy For White Circular Spot On Nail And Throbbing In Fingernail

My son was picking glue off of a bottle and a piece shoved into the underneath of his fingernail. We cannot tell if the piece of glue is stuck or if maybe he has blood under his fingernail. There is a big white circular spot on his nail now that we can't see through to tell what is going on. It is throbbing a lot. When my husband was young they used to use a drill bit to go through the nail to relieve the pressure. Any suggestions?

Hi...please do not drill. He has something lodged underneath his nail and its getting secondarily infected. Whatever is lodged there needs to be removed under medical guidance. He will require oral antibiotics also. I suggest you consult a physician for this.
