General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

* The urethral stricture after prostate surgery usually involves prostatic part of the urethra.
* Though urethral dilatation gives primary symptomatic relief, in my clinic, I do suggest the patient undergo either vesico internal urethrotomy ( VIU ) or urethroplasty depending upon the clinical severity and evaluation for a definite cure.
* Primary concern is with avoidance of urinary tract infection and
retention of the urine with due care.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
