Suggest Remedy For Tingling Sensation In Head After Injury

Hello there, I accidentally bumped my head on a cupboard at home. On the right side but slightly to the right. I have been experiencing a kind of tingling sensation on that side of my head since, and close to where the bump occurred feels tender. This was two days ago.

Hi,

There might be a contusion at the hit site, causing pain and tenderness. Usually we wont get tingling sensation, but may be there if some superficial sensory nerves were compressed then. Anyhow you need not worry- just take paracetamol/ibuprofen three time a day after food for 3 days- pain and tenderness will go away. The tingling sensation may take a few more days to disappear. If very troublesome, drugs like gabapentin will help, but you will need a prescription from your doctor.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam TK, Pediatrician
