Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a painful swelling on the side of my finger. It has been a few days and it is sore. I had it wrapped in a bandage after applying a salve, but is now a light grayish color. Can I try to burst it with a sterilized needle to see if fluid comes out?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM I have gone through your query. Your problem can be most likely due to hematoma. Avoid poking as it can cause infection. Applying ice packs will be helpful. Better to rule out fracture by doing x ray examination. Thanks.
