Thank you for the query.
I would like to enquire about your age, gender, duration of diabetes and the medications you are taking for the same.
Diabetes mellitus and infection are inter-related. Raised sugar levels in blood, predispose an individual to infection. Similarly, any infection leads to poor control of the sugar status (a vicious cycle is set up). Hence, it is imperative to control one's blood sugar level (HbAic preferably below 7.5%). A number of oral anti-diabetic agent and insulin are available for this purpose.
Since, you are already suffering from urinary tract infection, it is necessary, that you complete the full course of your antibiotics, otherwise resistance may develop and infection may recur. Once infection is controlled, sugar levels should stabilise, but if care is not taken to control the blood sugar, infection may reappear.
It is recommended that you get your Fasting blood sugar and 2hrs Post prandial blood sugar tested, once a month and your HbAic checked once every 3 months. If you have a glucometer at home, self monitoring of blood may be done.
I am not exactly sure, why you are on Warfarin (INR= 5.7, definitely increases your chance of bleeding). The INR needs to be monitored. If bleeding occurs, Vitamin K needs to be given. Warfarin should not affect your sugar directly. However, warfarin may interact with certain drugs which can cause some disruption. However, you have not provided enough information, so I cannot comment.
Please do consult your treating doctor for the warfarin and INR issue.
Hope this helps you.

Dr. Ayusmati Thakur
