Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am having little stomach pain thoughout the day since almost 2 years ,did almost all test but nothing comes out. Currently doctor said it may be due to amibeo infection (Which is difficult to diagnosis) so he has given me medicine for almost 21 days, can you help me or atleast tell me step by step method to go ahead ?
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history of having mild stomach pains for the last 2 years and you Doctor has given you a 3 week course in a hope that this is amoeba infestation. Wants to know the step by step method to go further. I would advise the following in such a situation: Stool tests for 3 consecutive days. CT scan of the abdomen. Upper GI endoscopy and colonoscopy may help a lot. Diagnostic Laparoscopy and if required any procedures helps in some cases. Continue the medicines as advised by your Doctor and you will added on with further treatment as per the causes found on clinical evaluation and examination. If all the investigations are normal and the medical management ineffective, you may be treated on the lines of IBS, that is irritable bowel syndrome.
