I had a chest infection 5 weeks ago where I had a course of antibiotics. I ve had a slight cough ever since not through the night only every now and again of a day. If I have any coffe or cereal with milk I m worse! Do you think I still have a slight infection or my airways are still touchy? If I breathe in a gust of cold air conditioning this will make me cough! Today I feel like I have dust in my chest.
Thanks for your question on HCM. I can understand your situation and problem. In my opinion you are having post infectious bronchitis. It is common after pneumonia due to inflammatory process. So better to consult pulmonologist and get done 1. Repeat chest x ray 2. PFT (pulmonary function test) Repeat chest x ray is needed to rule out worsening of infection. PFT is needed to rule out bronchitis. It will also tell you about severity of the bronchitis. And treatment is based on severity only. So PFT is must. So consult pulmonologist, first diagnose yourself and then start appropriate treatment.
