Suggest Remedy For Sore Bumps On Tongue

So I noticed maybe 5-6 days ago that my throat and tongue were starting to hurt. I looked at the back of my throat with a flash light, and noticed white bumps on the back of my throat, and tiny red bumps on my tongue. Just yesterday, my throat has completely stopped hurting, theres no white bumps anymore, but now I've noticed the bumps on my tongue have gotten bigger, and theyve spread. I have had a change in birth control, I'm not sure if that would have anything to do with it. The bumps are sore, and they're more irritated when eating something salty and spicey. Is this maybe something I should get checked out?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..

As per your complain and presentation of symptoms white spots on throat are pus pockets and are commonly due to bacterial infection in throat, while at times it can be due to viral infection with secondary bacterial infection.
Bumps at the back of tongue can be due to throat infection as the area is close to throat and bumps are due to inflamed circumvallate papillae.

For this antibiotics like Augmentin or Azithromycin, anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen and warm saline gargles will relieve, but in case if the symptoms have already subsided you need not to worry and medication is not needed..

As you have bumps still present over tongue that are increasing in size it can be due to allergic reaction to medicine that is your birth control pills..

But in case if you do not have any other symptoms that can represent side effects the swollen lymph nodes can be due to inflammation and not allergic reaction..
You should take anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen as it will reduce inflammation and pain..
Do warm saline gargles..
Gargle with numbing mouthwash containing Lignocaine especially during meals to prevent discomfort..
Avoid hot , spicy and hard foods..
Sucking ice pops can help..

Follow for 1 week and in case if still they do not show signs of improvement consult your gynaecologist and get evaluated..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards..
