My throat is paining badly. It seems like scratched inside. The chemist gave me Cheston Cold and I have taken one tablet 3 hours back but no relief till now. I do not have running nose, cough or cold. Though I am slightly feverish. Please advise what else should I take.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of severe throat pain which occurs due to bacterial infection of upper respiratory tract.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you to start with warm saline gargles and betadine gargles 2 times a day. Avoid hot, sharp , spicy food substances and carbonated beverages. Consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis and rule out condition like strep throat and viral infection. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics along with decongestants and anti inflammatory medications. You should take vitamin C to boost the immunity. For pain and swelling you should take ibuprofen or acetaminophen.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Get Well Soon.

Best Wishes,
