In my opinion, we should should definitely rule out
lung infection (pneumonia) and bronchitis in your case because you are having recurrent symptoms of constant productive cough and chest pain.
So better to
consult pulmonologist and get done clinical examination of respiratory system, chest x ray and PFT (Pulmonary Function Test).
Chest x ray is needed to rule out lung infection.
PFT is must for the diagnosis of bronchitis.
You may need higher antibiotics, inhaled bronchodilators (formoterol or
salmeterol) and inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) (
budesonide or
fluticasone) based on the reports.
