General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM I have gone through your query. Your problem can be most likely due to nerve compression syndrome from lumbar disc prolapse. A physical examination with an orthopedic surgeon will rule out that. In case of positive signs a MRI of lumbosacral spine should be taken to confirm it. If you were my patient with such case i would recommend a short period of rest for 3 to 5 days, NSAIDs like aceclofenac and muscle relaxants like thiocolchicoside . A physiotherapy and muscle strengthening exercise followed by that will benefit you also. Sleeping in medicated med or hard bed will be helpful. Wearing Lumbar supporting belt also will be helpful in such situation. Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear. Thanks.
