Suggest Remedy For Severe Laryngitis After Using Symbicort

Ok so i was taken off of Advair after 10 years, and switched to Symbicort because of my insurance company. Within 1 month of taking it i have developed severe laryngitis. I have tried throat spray, throat drops, tea wirh lemon, honey, zithromax, and salt water gargles which have offered no releif. I have been taken off the symbicort and put on dulera. But the laryngitis has persisted. This has been 4 three weeks now. Any suggestions?

Hi,

Welcome to HCM,

persistent haorse voice or cough after chronic usage of inhalers, laryngitis or bronchitis (productive sputum) could be the cause.

causes could be fungal(steroid spray), or voice abuse or misuse or resistent lung infection.

You require laryngoscopy procedure, sputum culture and sensitivity examination to rule out the cause. for this, you need to visit an ent surgeon.

All the best.
