Suggest Remedy For Red Mark And Lump In Ankle With Painful Foot Post Insect Bite

Five months ago I got an insect bite on my ankle. I still have a red mark the size of a quarter on my ankle and also have a lump in a large area on my ankle. In addition, my foot pains me. I went to my doctor and x-rays were taking and showed no broken bones as I also had twisted my ankle. Taking Advil and using hot compressors have failed to relieve the situation. What should I do?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

According to your history, it seems like an echymosis so a thrombophobe gel along with the hot compression might help to relieve the clot and the redness might be an inflammatory reaction around it so can take paracetamol for it.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Rajatha S. S., General & Family Physician
