I have been putting neosporin on a carpet burn down my back from being with my significant other on the beach. It looked horrible but began to heal quickly. It scabbed up and flaked off all in about a week. On the tenth day, today, small red itchy bumps have formed on the sensitive areas. Should I continue with the neosporin. Let it rest without any treatment or try something else?
You must avoid using neosporin as it can cause sensitisation. Instead you need to apply topical antibiotic creams like mupirocin.Oral antihistamines like fexofenadine may be used if itching is too much. You must consult your dermatologist regarding the above mentioned therapy. Regards
