Suggest Remedy For Recurring Strep Throat Infection

I recently had a strep throat that is now painless but I still see the white bacteria on my tonsil. The first time I treated my strep with antibiotics but it came back days later after thinking it was cured now I got rid of it again and its been almost a week since.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern.

Thanks for your query . There are two most common reasons for recurring sore throat

- First when we take antibiotics for sore throat it destroy the normal flora ( bacteria normally living in our body ) which makes body further susceptible for infection .

-Secondly infection occur due to weakened immune system .

The white spot on tonsils is indication that you should go for tonsillectomy , otherwise infection will come again and again .

I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist (ear, nose, throat) for proper examination and treatment . Doctor may prescribe stronger antibiotics (azithromycin) for longer duration .or recommend tonsillectomy.

For now do betadine gargles 2-3 times a day .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
