I have for three years now had a recurring red rash that is extremely itchy. I have tried numerous creams from fungal creams to cortisol creams and nothing seems to help. It last for upto three weeks at a time. But normally only 7 to 10 days. Please help.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of recurring red skin rashes which is pointing towards a condition known as sunburn or photoallergic dermatitis . In this condition the symptoms like peeling of red rashes become prominent. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to wash affected areas with cold water and apply azelaic acid containing cream on that. Apply cold compresses to your face 2-3 times a day. Take antihistamine drug like benadryl. If condition doesn't improve in a week then consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor may prescribe steroid ointment and retinoids. Apply broad spectrum sunscreen such as TANCARE to face all the times. Apply vitamin C serum at night.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
