Suggest Remedy For Recurring Itchy, Red Blisters On Body Diagnosed As Arachnid Bite

out of the blue, sporadically over the past few years i d developed red itchy bumps on my body ... typically on my breasts and then on my upper arm where it would touch the side of my breast. they re severely itchy then turn into liquid-filled blisters , that last over a week or so, and usually leave discolored skin long after they re gone. I ve had 2 biopsies, both of which concluded arachnid bite. is there any other possible cause? Just yesterday i developed them again and it worsened overnight. the itch is unbearable. I thought perhaps it s a lobster allergy? I ate lobster Sat. night and the rash developed by Sunday and blisters by Monday. in the past I had also had a full spectrum blood test for allergies, and the only thing that came up was mild dust mite allergy. i m at my wits end as to why this might happen

Hello,

You are suffering from recurrent itchy, red blisters on body, it has been diagnosed as arachnid bite. Wash the bite area with soap and water thoroughly and then apply a cold pad to reduce inflammation. You can apply ointment hydrocortisone on the affected area for relief from itching. Ointment Soframycin helps to soothe and give relief to the skin affected.

You can take non sedating antihistamine to reduce the symptoms of allergy. Do not touch, scratch or pop the area affected. In case you are developing necrotic lesions, you should get examined by a dermatologist or visit ER as you may need urgent medical aid. Wash your clothes and bedding with hot water frequently. Do not wear clothes made of synthetic fabrics. Do not wear ornaments or use chemical cosmetics or chemical based body lotions for a couple of days.

Avoid direct exposure to sunlight and use room humidifier. Stay away from addictions if any. Avoid food that triggers allergy. Some people do suffer from allergy after eating shrimps and lobsters. They are basically scavengers and eat whatever dies in the bottom of the oceans, their food includes the bodies or fragments of dead organisms as well as fecal material. You have sensitive skin & if your system is rejecting it, avoid eating it. You can take other sea fish that are equally tasty like pomfret. But in case your system reacts avoid taking it.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
