Hello,

You are just 20 years of age and are suffering from recurring heart palpitations. Heart palpitations are commonly caused by dehydration, lack of sleep, anxiety, stress, strenuous exercise, fear, certain medications, etc. Stay away from addictions if any, do not smoke, do not take alcohol or drugs, caffeine, nicotine and tobacco, etc. Sometimes, anemia, overactive thyroid, low blood glucose, low blood pressure, electrolyte disturbances can also cause similar symptoms.

You are suggested to take home made food at proper time to maintain vitals normal. Take adequate amount of water and fluids. Do not skip meals. You are suggested to get clinically examined by a Cardiologist and get all routine tests, investigations and imaging tests done to detect heart ailments that may need immediate medical attention like valve disease, AF, irregular heart beats, congenital heart disease, developing CAD, etc. Avoid oily, spicy food, trans fat, red meat and food that is difficult to digest. Avoid stress (emotional and physical). Get your T3, T4, TSH tested. Get treated at the earliest.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
