Suggest Remedy For Raised Bumps On Chest And Red Patches On Forehead Post Sun Exposure
Hello! I am 46 yr old female and have 2 raised bumps that have appeared on my chest after being in the sun today. They are maybe half pea sized... about 4mm across . Also have some red patches about 5mm across on my forehead that have been there for about 3 weeks! I am concerned
Raised bumps on chest may be due to the following: 1) Sun burns 2) Insect bites 3) Allergic contact dermatitis 4) Irritant contact dermatitis due to any irritants like fiber, pollen etc.
Red patches on the forehead may be due to the following: 1) Allergic rash 2) Irritant dermatitis due to any cosmetic irritants 3) Psoriasis 4) Pityriasis rosea 5) Seborrhic dermatitis
You need not worry as all the above conditions are easily treatable. I would suggest you to consult a dermatologist for detailed examination and appropriate treatment. Until then you can try the following treatment: 1) Calamine lotion can be applied over the rash 2) 1% Hydrocortisone cream can be applied on the rash and raised bumps
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Pallavi M., Anesthesiologist
