Suggest Remedy For Problem In Breathing

Hi, I have been having some breathing problems and I was wondering if you think I may have asthma. I feel like I can t get a good breath, I ve had a cough since the beginning of June and when I laugh or cough it s very hard to catch my breath, and my chest has a tight feeling. This seems to flare up mostly at night. I have two cats and I m not sure if I have allergies.

Hello
Welcome to health care magic
Thanks for your query.

I think in your case first we have to evaluate you properly before diagnosing you as an asthmatic or you had developed allergy towards your cats.

First you should take a chest X-ray and consult with a pulmonologist to rule out other pulmonary conditions.

A simple peak flow meter testing for peak expiratory flow rate will give an idea about you problems. Further your can stay away from your cats and see if you get better.

To confirm your allergic condition you can do specific IgE tests or radioallergosorbent tests (RASTs).

Treatment for your pulmonory problem might involve administration of antibiotic therapy, anti-histaminic therapy (such as citrizine), and salbutamol can be helpful for the relief of bronchospasm (Chest Tightness).

Consult pulmonologist and take further suggestions
Wish you a good health.
