Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
is there such a thing as a small rectum that may cause problems with going to bathroom i believe i may have had this since i was a child i have been diagnosed with ibs & been to several gatros i am in good health 40 yrs old female active however i always feel my absolute best when i have taken a colon cleanse ???
there are varying sizes of colons/rectums. typically women have smaller colons than men. I would avoid reliance of colon cleansing to feel good and consider having a good bowel regiment , avoiding constipation, water and fiber intake. make sure stool is formed and soft as this should pass easily regardless of colon size (in exception of medical problem such as a colon stricture, mass, cancer) if concern exists for these consider colonoscopy for "bowel changes"
