Hi Dear ,

As per your query you have persistent cough , sore throat and vomiting along with chest hurt when cough . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query but in your case it seems to me that there can be two probable reasons responsible :-

- It occur due to acid reflux . In this condition the acidic content of stomach come upwards due to esophagus sphincter dysfunction which cause dry cough chest burn and pain along with sore throat due ti irritation of mucosa due to acidic content .

- It can occur due to upper respiratory track infection , which can be bacterial or viral .

I would suggest you to ask hime to elevate head while laying down , avoid spicy and heavy meal specially at night , eat small and ferquent meals , do warm saline gargles and take antacid after every meal . Consult gastroenterologist for proper examination and rule out causes like sore throat . Doctor may order certain test like endoscopy or esophegus and X-ray of upper digestive track . Doctor may prescribe ranitidine or omeprazole along with sucralfate for healing of throat . Doctor may also refer you to ENT specialist .

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes,
