Suggest Remedy For Persistent Cough And Sore Throat

I have a sore throat, cough, stuffy ears and mucus. I've been using mucus reliever and started zpak yesterday. What else can I do to relieve the sore throat? I am on meds for high blood pressure, high chlorestal and take Aleve for arthuritis. I am a 67yr old woman.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..

As per your complain you are suffering from UPPER RESPIRATORY TRACT INFECTION also known as COMMON COLD..
Upper respiratory tract infection is caused by virus and it leads to the above explained symptoms..
At times there is a secondary Bacterial infection along with Viral therefore antibiotics like Z-Pak or amoxicillin 500my thrice daily has to be taken as a preventive measure..
You should also take Allegra 60mg twice daily..
You should take Sudafed twice a day for relief from congestion..
You should use decongestant nasal sprays like Otrivin.
You should use a humidifier at home..
Steam inhalations with eucalyptus use provides relief..
