Suggest Remedy For Painful Metacarpal Below Wrist With A Lump Due To Fall

A few weeks ago I fell and injured my hand. The pain is the 4th metacarpal just below the wrist. I also have a small lump there. Xray and tc scan show no fracture at time of injury. Still very painful to touch and pain in certain movements of my hand.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Dear Sir/Mam,
I hope the xrays and CT scan have been seen by a professional radiologist before ruling out any fractures. Even then the importance a ligamentous injury can not be overstressed in such injuries. I suggest you meet a proper hand surgeon who should be able to diagnose the problem and help you further. Till then analgesics , rest and ice packs should take care of the pain. A cock up splint used in splinting your wrist should give you relief. Hope this has helped you.
