Suggest Remedy For Painful Elbow Joint Post Blood Withdrawal

I am experiencing pain in my elbow joint when straightening my arm. I had blood drawn 3 days ago, no issues with it, slight bruising at the needle site but nothing major. I am not sure if this could be related or if the pain is from something else?

Hi,

Pain in elbow joint after blood withdrawal is mostly due to blood spilling out of blood vessel, while blood withdrawal from outside it may look like a bruise but would cause inflammation in the region causing the pain. Injury to tendon can be another cause.

You can use ice pack to relieve pain due to hematoma and inflammation. Application of ointment over the counter Thrombophob would relieve hematoma and inflammation. Over the counter pain pill like Ibuprofen would help in pain relief too. With home care the relief should be in a week's time. If not or if you get excess trouble should consult your doctor for physical examination and suitable treatment.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
