Suggest Remedy For Painful Back Acne

I had been on ortho tri-cyclen for ten years when I stopped taking it April 2010. I noticed my skin was greasier almost right away, but I didn't start getting painful back acne until December 2010. I went back on the pill March 2011 and have been using Neutrogena body wash for two months, but nothing has changed - acne is still there and still painful. I don't remember having had acne pre-birth control and my daily schedule hasn't changed except for the fact I stopped swimming over the winter (just started again a few weeks ago). What's up? This is driving me crazy!

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have painful back acne which is because infection of sebaceous gland under the hair follicle , when sebum get accumulated in clogged duct of sebaceous gland along with dead skin and bacteria they produce acne. It is due to hair follicle infection as well which is due to bacteria. I would suggest you to apply apple cider vinegar as in part with 3 parts of water for 10 minutes and then wash with warm water twice daily. Apply vitamin E oil at night. Avoid greasy creams ,use water based products. Don't pick or touch acne. If acne still persists consult dermatologist for proper examination .Doctor may prescribe ointments containing benzyol peroxide, azelaic acid or retinoids. You can go for laser therapy as well.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Get well Soon.
