Suggest Remedy For Pain And Sensitivity In Eye After Accidentally Poking The Eye
Hi, I was separating my eyelashes with a pin needle and poked my eye. It s been several hours since I did this and my eye still hurts. It s very sensitive to sunlight. The pain is not severe and it does not seem to have affected my vision. Should I still go get it checked or is there something I can do at home to relieve the pain (besides ibuprofen/Tylenol)?
Hi there, I think that you should see an eye doctor immediately. From reading your question, I am most concerned for a corneal abrasion, but given the fact that you were using a non sterile needle, I am worried that bacteria could have been driven deeper into the eye, and you may be at risk for a corneal ulcer or a deeper infection (which can eventually affect your vision). Your eye doctor (depending on what they see on exam) may decide to start you on antibiotics. I hope this answer is helpful to you. Best of luck.
