My 6 year old son failed his hearing test at the beginning of July. Both ears occluded with wax. I have since been using warm olive oil every night for the past 5-6 weeks. As I am a district nurse, I was able to bring the scope home to look in his ears last week. No improvement evident & he still states that he "can't hear".
What next????
Hard wax is usually made soft by putting wax dissolvants like olive oil before syringing ear.But if impacted wax olive oil should be put 2_3 times before ears are syringed. In case no relief with oil then show ent for ear syringing
