Hello and welcome to HCM, A lump in the groin near to the abdomen can be due to lymph node enlargement or soft tissue lesion. Lymph node enlargement can be due to infection, inflammation or neoplastic growth. Aspiration cytology of the lymph node needs to be done. In this investigation, the cells are aspirated from the lump, spread on glass slide and stained with appropriate stains. After studying the cells, the origin and nature of the lesion.
