Suggest Remedy For Joints Pain And Stiffness

i have went to my primary care physician and explained that i have joint pain and stiffness like i imagine an 80 year old would ( I am a 45 year old 5 5 woman I weigh 150 lbs i am not in amazing shape but I do go to the gym but lately due to two kids graduating etc I have taken some time off and honestly have had problems with my left knee and right elbow off and on for a couple years but only been a month or so of infrequent gym use. When I sit for a length of time driving or at desk and worst when get up in middle of night or the morning I amso stiff. He did blood test last week said dont show much inflamation blood cell counts etc all looked great so mentioned I may have fibromyalgia and sending me to rheumatoid doctor ? I have also been having some swelling of my ankles and feet and is getting progressively worse by end of day. I should let you know the joint pain has gone on for at least a year or so but the stiffness has gotten progressively worse over last 6 months. ankle and feet swelling is new in last few weeks so have been trying to drink a lot more water doesnt seem to help? any suggestions?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
I understand your concern.
Few things to highlight: you are 45 years old female having joint pain and stiffness, the stiffness is more in morning and getting worse with time.
There are the two possibilities: First you are in your menopausal age so joint pain may occur due physiological changes in female body. My advice is you should start calcium supplement once daily. This will help you to restore calcium levels.
Secondly you should visit the Orthopedic doctor to get yourself examined for Rheumatoid Arthritis. Test your blood for the presence of RA factor. Accordingly your management can be started.
Hope this will help you.
