Suggest Remedy For Itchy Rashes On Shoulders Post Leukemia Treatment

A random rash appeared on my back and shoulders and partially on my forearms but it does not appear to be on my chest, neck, stomach or anywhere on my lower bottom. It s extremely itchy and only becomes obviously noticeable after a hot shower or if I put lotion on it (at first I thought it was a dry skin rash). I am a recently finished ALL Leukemia treatment individual as well. I have not changed much in my routine except in October I started a new detergent for clothes, however the symptoms didn t really start until mid November. If it were this-- wouldn t it be on my chest and legs aswell? Any explanation?

Hello,

As per your case history, you are suffering from Allergic dermatitis.

My treatment advice is:
1. Do not scratch the lesion as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply a soothing lotion like calamine lotion on affected region twice daily.
3. Take an antihistamine medicine like levocetirizine twice daily for 7 to 10 days.
4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics, oral steroid taken only after consulting a dermatologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Harshit Bhachech
