Suggest Remedy For Itchy Rash On Knees And Elbows With History Of Gluten Intolerance

I have had a rash that started on my knees and my elbows and now I have them on just one ear. I know I am allergic to gluten and I am wondering if now it is celiac disease. Can one graduate from gluten allergy to celiac disease? How can this itchiness on my knees elbows and ears be treated? I am trying to avoid going to the doctor as much as possible :-(

Hello,

Yes you can have celiac disease and the rashes are just a manifestation of disease on skin(dermatitis herpetiformis). They can be treated with dapsone however the skin will best improve with complete gluten free diet.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Muhammad Zeeshan Akram
