I have a spot on my lower right leg that always itches. I have tried every topical oitment out there. Sometimes it bleeds from me itching it but I would say this has gone off and on for several years now. I did see a dermatologist a couple of years ago and they ran tests to make sure it was not something serious but it flames up and lasts a couple of months I get it under control and then the itching starts again. Often times I can not control myself and itch and itch until it bleeds.
Hi. As per your case history you are having eczema. My treatment advice is - 1. Don't scratch the lesion as it may worsen the condition. 2. Apply a mild topical steroid cream like mometasone cream on the lesion twice daily. 3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine twice daily for itching. 4. Other treatment options are oral steroid like prednisone or betamethasone taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
Thanks. Dr. Harshit bhachech. MBBS, DDVL.
