Hi,

Noted your history of itching in throat and coughing, took Amoxicillin and Azithromycin, the coughing reduced bit the itching continues. Itching indicates any of the following:
- Allergy to something.
- Granular pharyngitis means inflammation of the throat mucosa.
- Coughing is secondary to such changes.

Amoxicillin and Azithromycin are antibiotics and help only to control the infection part of the disease process. Hence, you need to take the following:
- Anti-allergic and cough suppressants after discussing with the Pharmacist for OTC or with a Doctor for prescription based medicines.
- Take an anti-inflammatory if there is any inflammation in the throat.
- Other medicines as symptomatic and supportive to get a complete cure.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
