Suggest Remedy For Injury In Chin

I fell off a chair 5 days ago and hit my chin really hard on the floor. It split my chin open and bleed pretty good but now is starting to heal up nicely. However there is a good sized lump under the surface of the skin under the cut and is quite painful. Is this normal??

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Trauma can result in a formation of a lump at the site of injury. This is due to the scar tissue at the site, in most persons it is not very painful.

You can consider the use of a warm compress and anti inflammatory pain medication to see if this helps.

Eg of anti inflammatory medication include ibuprofen, naproxen, cataflam

If pain continues or worsens then you may need to see your doctor for assessment.

I hope this helps
