Suggest Remedy For Increased Depression After Taking Citalopram

i am feeling more dpressed on citalopram tablets i am taking. ia also taking olanzapine and zopiclone. i think i need to stop taking citalopram i have taken 22 citalopram tablets so far can you please advise me what to do im feeling really low worse than when i started them .

Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries

I can understand your concern. Citalopram is a SSRI drug and the drug helps to improve serotonin neurotransmission in brain. The drug takes time to show its full effects. In most cases when the drug is started for first few days worsening of symptoms occur. The increased depression in your case is probably due to this reason. I'd advise you to please wait for some more days to see full effects of the drug. In about 4-6 weeks you will see improvement of your depressive symptoms. Continue to take the drugs as per your prescribed doses. Visit your psychiatrist if worsening of symptoms occurs.
