Suggest Remedy For Frequent Urination And Thirst When Pm Amlodipine

After being on candesartan and bisoprolol for a number of years for dilated cardiomyopathy which improved to myocarditis, My doctor added 5mg of Amlodipine to my daily intake in November 2014. I am urinating constantly, terrible thirst and dryness of the mouth, experiencing stomach pains and back pains, loss of appetite, getting very little sleep. My Doctor said my symptoms could indicate diabetes and not side effects from Amlodipine am waiting results of bloods and urine. Your thoughts would be appreciated

Hi,

Yes, random blood sugar and fasting blood glucose plus tolerance test must be done in your case, and Amlodipine can also cause these ask your consultant to change for amlodipine to other available anti-hypertensives.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sunny Madar, General & Family Physician
