Suggest Remedy For Dry, Cracked, Swollen And Bleeding Lips

Hi. My daughter participated in band camp as a director this past week. She was drinking out of a water fountain and started having some soreness and dryness on her lips. Just like she had really bad chapped lips. She started using chap stick, then Vaseline. She even tried some antiboidic ointment. She has since left for school, but her lips have continued to get worse to the point they are cracked and bleeding and swollen.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns...


As per your complain she is suffering from chapped lips which has occurred due to dehydration and loss of moisture due to evaporation because of being into outdoors and getting exposed to air and sun..
You need not to worry and ask her to drink plenty of water..
Apply a Steroid based ointment to relieve inflammation and pain but apply only for not more than 2weeks..
Apply lip balm containing beeswax and also you can apply Petroleum jelly as both of these help in locking moisture and lubricate the lips..
Do cold compresses over the lips..
Avoid licking the lips as it further evaporates moisture from lips..
When some healing takes place exfoliate the lips using mild scrub to remove dead skin and promote cell growth...
