Dear HCM user
Its common to have sleep difficulties in old age. I hope you are not suffering from any long term problem or taking any medicines on a long term basis except what you mentioned. If yes they need to be reviewed. I will advice you to follow some simple steps of sleep hygiene that will help you taper and stop your medicines.
Sleep and wake up at a fixed time.
Don't sleep in day.
Exercise regularly in morning.
Use bed only for sleeping and not for watching TV, mobile.
Avoid tea, coffee or stimulating activities close to bed time. Also I am concerned about the leaves that you are taking. Please refrain from self treatment.
Do some relaxing thing at night like listening to call music, relaxation, reading.
If you can't sleep for 15 minutes get up and do reading again until you feel sleepy.
Associate bed with sleep.
Don't worry in your bed.
Have a Glass of warm milk at night and take warm shower.
Following these will help you sleep better without medications.
Also if you have other problems like depression, anxiety or substance use it needs exploration and treatment.
