Suggest Remedy For Cyst On Earlobe

Hi, I've had a small ball (cyst?) in my earlobe for a few months. It got there after I got scratched on my earlobe by a piece of metal. It doesn't hurt but it's a bit annoying since I want to get ear piercings soon. I've tried the hot compress but it only made it reduce in size, not make it go away completely. I even tried to remove it with some sketchy home "surgery" on one occasion, managed to cut a piece of it off somehow. The rest is still there though. Any idea what is it exactly and how do I get rid of it? And can I pierce around it?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..

As per your complain a small lump on the ear lobe that has formed secondary to traumatic injury over the earlobe caused by scratching can be a fibrous tissue overgrowth or a fibroma..
It can also be due to other causes like a Lipoma or a sebaceous cyst, hematoma or an abscess..

As you have tried to remove it on your w surgically it is a very wrong practice and can cause severe infection and inflammation..
I would suggest you to consult a General surgeon and get evaluated and he can do a thorough clinical evaluation and although clinical examination is commonly sufficient but if needed he can advise you a biopsy..
He can perform a surgical removal of the same followed by antibiotics and painkillers..

I would not advise you to get the ear pierced over it as it can further cause injury and worsen the condition..
As of now you can continue doing warm compresses..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
