Suggest Remedy For Cough In Children

Hi, My son is 3yrs old 12 kg wt..he is having cough and running nose.temperature is normal.i have gave him livolin syrup 3 ml in the morning, can i continue this for afternoon also, kindly suggest if i need to give citrezene syrup also..as i am out, it will take me a day time to take him to docter.please suggest.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of cough in children is because of infection of upper respiratory tract. I would suggest you to maintain hydration level of child first of all. Give plenty of fluids to child. Give combination of anti allergic such as cetrizine and saline nasal decongestants. Visit pediatrician once and get it examined. Go for blood and sputum test first and get it examined. Start treatment after proper diagnosis. Take steam inhalation as well. For nasal block, plain saline nasal drops will do, every 4-6th hourly to relive nasal congestion.
