Suggest Remedy For Constipation In A Child

My one year old baby has gotten very constipated ever since she started to drink regular milk.. She cries everything she poops.. Her poop is hard and shaped in like a ball.. I have also tried 2 and 1 percent milk, soy milk and even lactose milk... Today I started to give her nestle nido formula.. And as soon as she drank the milk like 10 to 15 minutes she poop... And she poop was soft and she didn t struggle to poop.. Is it possible that nido is good for her? .

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Thank you fro contacting HCM with your health care concerns. Having a milk problem with your child is common after switching to regular milk. If you child is drinking Nestle nido and it works for her then you can continue. If and when you switch back to milk I recommend that you also supplement her drinking with plenty of water to help prevent the dry hard stools
