Our one month old sneezes constantly. SOmetimes she coughs and sneezes until she appears to turn blue and lose her breath. This happens multiple times daily. SHe does not have a fever. This happens more frequently after eating, but can also happen anytime. We are afraid to go anywhere because of this. Our doctor has not been helpful and basically said he didnt know what was going on. We are very frightened.
Hi...Thank you for consulting in Health Care magic.
It could be whooping cough and I suggest yo consult an infectious disease specialist. If it is whooping cough the cough will persist for 6 weeks. If it is so, she will not require antibiotics as she should have been gaining immunity already and antibiotics are given only to eradicate the organism and prevent spread to others.
Hope my answer was helpful for you. I am happy to help any time. Further clarifications and consultations on Health care magic are welcome. If you do not have any clarifications, you can close the discussion and rate the answer. Wish your kid good health. Dr. Sumanth MBBS., DCH., DNB (Paed).,
