Suggest Remedy For Constant Dry Cough

My friend has been dry coughing for the past several days and now he's cough are worse. He cough so hard he can't barely talk. His head hurts and he throw up everything he ate and he has been eating soup the whole time he been sick. He doesn't want to eat anything anymore.Please advice.Thank you.

The most common cause of an acute onset of coughing would be the common cold or flu.

There are different over the counter medications that can be used to help relieve the coughing.

He can use cough suppressants. If the cough is wet, then he may need to use mucolytic medications, these help to break up the mucus.

Rest and the use of fluids would also help.
