Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

The burning sensation is due to pressure on the fine nerves due to the clot. This should get better as the clot settles. Apply cold compress and keep the limb elevated to help relieve the symptoms. It could take 4/6 weeks from the date of injury.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Aashish Raghu, Orthopedic Surgeon
