Suggest Remedy For Burn Marks On Lips After Using Wax Strips

Hi, I used a waxing strip to wax my upper lip and now have a red burn/mark. It doesnt hurt however isnt attractive, is there anything I can do to speed up the process of the burn/mark fading? Ive heard neosporin is good to use however as I live in Australia it isnt available to us. Ive been putting fresh aloe vera on it for the last 2 days. Thanks

Hello Sudip,

I can understand your concern for burn marks on lips after using wax strips. It appears from your query that you have developed burn due to the waxing over the upper lips. The hot wax caused the irritation and resultant burn marks.
In all your kind of cases I suggest my patients to avoid waxing and use a laser reduction of hair over upper lips as best method. For immediate relief I suggest my patients to apply hydrocortisone cream mixed with antibiotic cream over the burn mark. In case if the itching is on higher side then I suggest an antihistamine such as loratadine. I further suggest you to not to touch or scratch the area as it can cause more aggravation. You can take further guidance from the treating dermatologist.
All the best.
